Spartan was founded in 1982 in Burlington, Kentucky, with a simple but powerful mission: build infrastructure that lasts, and do it with innovation and grit. More than 40 years later, that mission hasn’t changed—but the scale, impact, and reach of our work certainly has.

We are proud to be a national leader in underdrain installation and rehabilitation, with more than 60 million feet installed. These systems protect roadways by managing subsurface water—preventing failures before they happen.
From roadways and interstate highways to airport runways – and even racetracks – our drainage work ensures safety, longevity, and performance in critical infrastructure.

No-Dig, Trenchless & Environmentally Friendly Technology
Innovation has always been at the core of Spartan. That’s why we’ve invested heavily in trenchless technologies—solutions that allow us to repair and rehabilitate infrastructure without tearing up roads or disrupting communities.
Spartan capabilities include:

Spartan is also a Thermoform PVC liner installer. Thermoform is one of the most modern trenchless pipe repair solutions, and it is ideal near water due to having no chemical reactions in the process.
These methods reduce environmental impact, minimize traffic disruption, and deliver long-term results often more efficiently than traditional excavation.
Laser Profiling & Other Inspection & Quality Assurance
Long before it became standard practice, Spartan was using camera technology to inspect underground systems. Today, Spartan provides quality control and insurance video inspections for highway edgedrains, stormdrains, crossdrains, culverts, sanitary sewer, dam drainage structures and more.

Concrete-on-Demand & Specialized Materials
Our volumetric concrete capabilities allow us to produce precise mixes directly on-site—ensuring efficiency, flexibility, and exact specifications.

- Flowable fill for backfill and voids
- Cellular grout for specialized applications
This approach can reduce waste, improves quality, and allows us to adapt in real time to project needs.
Custom Trenching & Roadway Solutions
